Thankful Thursday: the sweet things in life

It was a typical Thursday. I was trying to clean the house, work on a few blog ideas, keep up with the kids. Normal ho-hum life. And then it happened.

I was tagged in a Facebook update:

Game changer, baby! I won free cupcakes! Last week I had stopped by my favorite local bakery, Flour Power, to pick up a couple of cupcakes for me and my oldest son on the way to his piano lesson. While I was there, I entered my name in their weekly drawing and promptly forgot all about it. I never win anything.

But today was my day! At last! It’s Amanda’s time to shine!

I pulled up to that beautiful bright yellow building with sweet anticipation of my free goodies.

Isn’t it just the world’s cutest bakery? I totally love this place. And check out my haul:

Aren’t they beautiful? Don’t they just make your soul light up? I loved these. And I loved sharing these – we drove all over town, delivering treats to my husband at work and friends at their office. I felt like the cupcake fairy.

Of course, my children enjoyed a few cupcakes as well.

  1. Wow I just jumped on to thank you for following my posts and found YOUR amazing blog. I just had to click, ‘follow’ and perhaps I’ll finally learn how to make cupcakes that don’t look like a five year old made them! ๐Ÿ™‚ (I’m glad you agree that anything’s fine in moderation.)

Can’t wait to search around and discover much more. Thanks again and I hope you feel free to comment evey once in a while. Blessings,

  2. Oh my! Those were some gorgeous cupcakes!! Also, thank you for visiting and choosing to follow my blog! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m gonna follow yours too as it looks amazing!! Looking forward to getting to know you and yours through your posts! If you happen to like furries, mainly dogs… then you can also look up my blog about pets, ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s even more brand new than Gently Speaking though, so hang in there with me! Have a totally blessed Saturday! Now to go explore your “place” a bit!
